Blender 2.91 is an update of professional free and open-source software for creating 3D computer graphics, which includes tools for modeling, sculpting, animation, simulation, rendering, post-processing and editing of video with sound, layout using “nodes”, as well as the ability to create 2D animation.

The update includes improved fabric sculpting, improved boolean operations, mesh-to-volume and volume-to-mesh conversion, customizable curve braids, searchable UI panels, and more. Combined with hundreds of bug fixes, Blender 2.91 is even more advanced and stable than ever.

The release was made possible thanks to the Blender.org community of users and developers, for providing demos, submitting bug reports, and thanks to more than 5000 individuals and organizations who have joined the Blender Development Fund.

Among the new features is a new option Exact solver which better handles overlapping geometry, modifier Mesh Sequence Cache can now import Alembic speed to render blurring in motion, the ocean modifier now has separate values for the viewport and rendering resolution, chamfers on curves now support the same user profiles as the chamfer modifier. The new “bevel mode” property defines what type of bevel to build, with the “profile” option for the custom quarter-circle profile.

Animation curves have been improved, allowing for sharper changes with fewer keyframes required. All types of keyframes can be inserted without changing their shape.
Two new material previews were introduced. Complex Ball – preview designed to display certain material properties – wear and tear of edges or cavity details, semitransparency SSS, refraction, and hair preview.

Blender 2.91 is available for Windows 7 and above, macOS 10.13 and above and Linux. Download for free.

Forrender already supports Blender 2.91.
